This is your chance to be a part of the FUTURE of salsa! These dancers are the best and brightest of the college salsa scene! Come Cheer for your favorite college salsa dance team as they go head to head to take home the trophy of College Salsa Champions! 30% of the scoring will come from AUDIENCE RESPONSE!! So that means the best team needs your CHEERS & APPLAUSE!! 70% will come from professional judges!

Here are the RULES for the Competition:

1. Salsa Dance Team must be from an accredited college & must register all coaches and choreographers with the College Salsa Congress.
2. A Minimum of 3 couples are needed to form a team.
3. All Competitors must be current Full Time College Students at the time of competition.
4. Maximum length of routine 2:30 (including intro).
5. Routine must be 80% salsa.
6. Routine can be “on1” or “on2” however, the timing must stay consistent throughout the entire routine.
7. There is a Maximum of 3 lifts/tricks above the shoulder allowed during routine. * A Lift/trick is defined as an assisted move when both feet are off the ground and above the shoulders.
8. Judges will be professional and/or high profile dancers/instructors in the LA Salsa scene (Please NOTE Coaches & team choreographers are not eligible to serve as judges).

Teams will be judged in the following areas:
(1) Timing 20%
(2) Synchronization 10%
(3) Execution 10%
(4) Choreography 10%
(5) Musicality 10%
(6) Appearance & Costumes 10%
(7) Audience Response 30%
